Ray Wilson – Executive Producer/Director – Recording Engineer
Ray Wilson is a graduate of the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts where he helped to establish filmmaking as an approved artistic focus. Prior to his graduation he was invited as one of 12 students to attend a summer film intensive at Penn State University, and the following summer he enrolled as a Bachelor’s candidate in Temple University’s Film and Media Arts program. During this time his appreciation for music and interest in being a participant began to further manifest, and he departed Temple to study Recording Arts at Full Sail University. After graduating in 2001, Ray returned to his hometown and performed his internship at RuffNation Records in Bryn Mawr, PA working with “Commisioner” Gordon Williams and Leela James on her debut album A Change Is Gonna Come. After obtaining a coveted position at The Studio as an Assistant Engineer, he became acquainted with a number of the individuals featured in THE SOUL OF PHILADELPHIA.
In mid-2002, Ray became the Chief Engineer at Homecookin’ Studios, owned by Mama’s Boys Music and Karma Productions. In 2005, Ray reunited with Williams as his personal engineer and assistant, and in 2009 he and his wife relocated to Denver, Co, where he now resides. It was in Denver that he renewed his interest in motion and still photography and producing various commercial projects and short films.
